Hello! I'm Catherine Rogers

Welcome to the world of healing through creativity!
I believe the capacity for us to cope with life's challenges lies within the spirit of creativity. As your therapist I'll assist you in creative therapy experiences that reveal possibly hidden aspects of yourself in the security and privacy of your own home. My approach to therapy accompanies your unique healing process through in-depth dialogue, art-making and visual imagery. Creative therapy is effective and transformative. In a process whose cornerstones are support, collaboration, compassion and imagination we will discover your inborn energy for healing and wholeness. During our time together I'll guide you through creative experiences to increase your ability to identify and express your emotions and physical feelings as well as strengthen your resiliency. Together we'll discover the way forward to a re-imagined self and a more creative life.

Why choose Creative Therapy?

Our work together may include your concerns related to depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, loss, abandonment, intrusive memories, dreams and nightmares.
Depression
People with depression can feel hopeless about recovery, especially if they’ve had the condition for a long time. There are many therapies used to treat depressive symptoms. Creative Therapy offers a safe, gentle and energizing way to express yourself and elevate the imagination.
Trauma
Research has found that traumatic memories are stored in the right hemisphere of the brain. Speech is located on the left. Because Creative Therapy is a right-brain activity, it is often easier for those suffering from PTSD to assist the healing process through creativity.
Anxiety
Creative Therapy techniques to relieve anxiety are meditative, quiet and calming. These qualities help soothe symptoms of worry, stress, nervousness, and irritability. When we’re focused on creating our attention shifts away from ruminations toward calm and gentle thoughts and feelings.
Grief work
Grief arises from significant loss. The origins of grief often come from the loss of life, health, work, family, friends, pets and homes. Creative therapy helps us to honor our loss and shed light on our unique grieving process.
Understanding
Let's gain a greater awareness of ourselves and why we make the decisions we do by looking through a new lens. Creative Therapy helps us identify what makes us truly happy and how we might make changes for the better.
Life decisions
There's pressure on us to perform and succeed in life and work, sometimes to the point that we may be afraid to make a mistake about important decisions. Creative therapy reveals to us divergent points of view and alternatives to conventional decision making.
